Courtney Road is currently a 10' wide gravel road with several hortizontal and vertical curves below the standard of 30 mph. The road base is clay. The existing drainage is limited.
The project will widen the road bed from 12 feet to 32 feet and widen the road surface from 10 feet to 26 feet. The road surface will upgraded to a BST surface. The existing drainage structures will be upgraded and new drainage structures will be added where needed. Guardrail and other safety elements will be installed where none exist presently and are warranted. Horizontal and Vertical curves will be upgraded to meet the current minor collector standards.
