Road 11-SW from Beverly-Burke Rd to Adams Rd was the last section of the E-W corridor improvement along the south side of the Frenchman Hills which includes 11-SW, 12-SW and 12-SE. This is the main E-W route for Agricultural traffic on the Royal Slope. This corridor has a high truck percentage. This section had a history of serious injury and fatality collisions, and was subject to seasonal weight restrictions.
The existing pavement width of 26 feet was widened to 34 feet. Two substandard curves were improved to current standards for 50mph. The structural load carrying capacity was improved to All-Season standards.
This project was the last phase of a corridor improvement project intended to provide an All-Season route E-W along the Royal Slope. Public response to this corridor improvement has been positive.
