Wind River Road is the main entrance into the Southwest area of the Gifford Pinchot National Forest, it is the corridor by which multiple user groups enter the forest for year round recreation.
This section of roadway has been deteriorating for sometime, with noticeable skin patches, slumping, and areas of non-recoverable shoulders.
We started with pre-leveling and super-elevation work along seventeen sections of the road, full overlay and shoulder rock, and finished with three sections of guardrail in the worst areas of the system.
