The proposed improvements include rehibilitation of the eastern portion of Francis Road, from SR-9 westerly connecting to the recently improved section 2 of Francis Road. Skagit County will widen Francis Road to meet current road standards, which will require 12' travel lanes and 8' shoulders. Other planned improvements incorportate additional drainage infrastructure and rehiblitation of the road base to handle heavy truck and farm equipment traffic, thereby eliminating the existing deficiencies on section 1 of Francis Road.
