Parpala Road connects State Route 101 and the community of Naselle with the intersection of State Route 401. The Parpala Road Culvert is located at MP 5.47, approximately 5.47 miles west of State Route 101. The 36 inch diameter concrete pipe is separating. If left unabated, the separation will ultimately cause full blockage. The area has an 18 foot cut area making it difficult for maintenance. The 36 inch pipe is undersized and needs to be replaced.
As directed by the Washington State Fish and Wildlife field review, the culvert will be removed and replaced with a seventeen to nineteen foot (17'-19') structure. The roadway will be resurfaced and safety guardrail placed.
The work will be completed by Pacific County maintenance crews.
