Chesaw Rd is the main access to the community of Chesaw and surrounding agricultural land, connecting timber land, ranches, and homes to Oroville and Hwy 97. The detour around this culvert location is about 40 miles. 2021 traffic counts show 620 ADT with 34% trucks. Tonasket Creek crosses Chesaw Rd at milepost 3.974 in an old deteriorated 8' diameter corrugated culvert. The bottom is rusted through and the culvert is beyond its useful life. Preliminary investigations lead us to believe that a new structure in the 20'-28' span range will be required by current regulations. Project scope will be limited to replacement of the culvert and localized paving as necessary. Guardrail will likely be necessary.
