Staley Road is an unshouldered two lane Rural Major Collector with an ADT of approximately 1,150 and is a T3 truck route. Truck activity on this road accounts for approximately 16% of the traffic. This is a popular route that connects the residents, farmlands, and businesses of Deer Park to US-395. The current conditions consist of a deteriorating roadway with a PSC of 43 and pavement showing alligator cracking, some longitudinal distress, transverse distress, and rutting. The proposed 2R project would resurface and restore the existing 20' wide road with a 2" HMA overlay for approximately 1.5 miles of roadway improvements, from Monroe Road to Dalton Road. In addition to resurfacing the road new striping for lane delineation and new signs will be included with the proposed 2R project. Guardrails will be replaced or installed where needed.
