This project addresses a 20' long steel bridge constructed in 1960 and most recently rated in 2020 with a sufficiency rating of 11.14. This bridge carries Oakshot Road (ADT 1350) over Corbett Creek just west of the City of Colville. The bridge was load rated in 2018 and resulted in the bridge being posted for all truck loads. This has diverted all the trucks off of this T4 route onto other county roads not constructed to the same standards with regard to truck traffic.
Because this structure is a short span bridge, the likelihood of federal funding for bridge replacement is very limited. The project will address the replacement of the current bridge with a new concrete box culvert or bridge structure. Safety and design deficiencies will be addressed with this project as well.
