The Mountview Road serves as a significant farm to market and commercial freight and goods route in the northwest area of Lincoln County. The project begins at SR2 in the Town of Creston and accesses nearby Highline Grain elevators. This portion of Mountview Road also serves as a mail and school route and is the only route to the Town of Creston's cemetery. This portion of Mountview Road does not meet current design standards and currently has inslopes that are less than 2:1 in several sections of the roadway. The pavement is in very poor condition and shoulders have significant section loss.
This project would consist of widening the roadway to a 26-foot finish width, construct 3:1 or flatter inslopes, and replace drainage facilities. Crushed surfacing will be placed and a new bituminous treatment will be applied plus other incidental work.
