Miles Creston road has the highest average daily traffic volume over any other Lincoln County road. It is classified as a Rural Minor Arterial serving local residences, businesses and visitors passing to and through the Lake Roosevelt Area. This route is used as a short cut between SR 2 on the South and SR 25 on the North by locals, tourists and freight and goods movement to points north and into Canada. The existing roadway horizontal and vertical alignment barely meets today’s minimum design standards. The asphalt shows major signs of age and deterioration with broken shoulders, longitudinal, transverse and alligator cracking, & severe wheel rutting. Annual repair costs have skyrocketed. We have completed several projects on the Miles Creston road corridor. The remaining road segment to be improved is from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 4.66. This Project will complete improvements from M.P. 0.00 to M.P. 3.01. We will widen the roadway; safety enhance slopes; enhance existing subgrade with only minor changes in vertical and horizontal alignment, replace and extend drainage culverts, resurface with crushed and asphaltic surfacing, install guardrail where warranted, complete other safety enhancements where necessary, and upgrade striping and signage.
