This section of Flint Road is an 18' wide two lane Rural Minor Collector with an ADT of 2,649 and just outside the boundaries of the City of Spokane and Airway Heights. The existing road lacks shoulders and has a PSC of 51 with signs of alligator cracking, longitudinal distress, and failing edges. The project proposes to widen the road from 18' to 30' with two 11' drive lanes, 4' shoulders, and 2' gravel shoulders. The project would begin at 12th Avenue and end at Greenwood Road for 0.75 miles of reconstructed road. The project will rehabilitate a road in nearly failing condition and provide the needed width for vehicles to navigate the roadway especially in winter weather. This section of Flint Road provides a quickly growing area with access to two adjacent cities, SR-2, the Spokane International Airport, and northwest Spokane County. This road provides access to a diverse area with a mix of commercial, residential, and agricultural lands.
