Lower Elwha Road serves the Lower Elwha Klallam Reservation and local homes. A new access to the reservation was recently competed (Kacee Way) making the rebuilt portion under this project match the width and safety features of the new route.
Lower Elwha Road was a narrow surface with steep slopes and clear zone hazards.
The road was rebuilt to 34' wide with 6:1 inslopes. All utiilities were put underground. The road was surfaced with 3" of HMA.
