9-NW is a rural minor collector and is the first east-west connector south of Quincy and carries considerable Ag and livestock traffic.
This road carries a high percentage of truck traffic and is subject to seasonal weight restrictions. Existing roadway was only 22’ wide and did not meet current design standards.
Roadway was widened to 34’ by contract, allowing for better mobility of wider farm equipment and other vehicles. County Forces constructed Class A BST for surfacing, which worked very well. Drainage was improved. Public feedback has been very positive.
