Upper Hoh Road provides the only access to the Olympic National Park Hoh Rain Forest, full and part-time residences, the county road maintenance shop, Olympic National Forest, and Nature Conservancy lands.
Upper Hoh Road was partially washed out and reduced to one lane during December 2017 storm events.
The road embankment was reconstructed with a riprap revetment. The road was re-established to two lanes, repaved, and guardrail was added during summer of 2018.
